Xiao Yu
Ice elementalists are at heart cold, indifferent people. Highly aloof and aristocratic, they consider the gift of elemental control to be a highborn right, only able to be acquired through birth and subsequent rigorous training regimes.
What is there that doesn't belong to them? Some historians have argued that even demons and vampires cannot compete with elementalists, who are the pinnacle of human magical control. Their control over the elements are enhanced by their will, which is the reason for the training regimes at an early age, to develop strength of character as well as mental stubbornness. As a result, not only are they snobby, but they are insanely, psychopathologically stubborn and nearly impossible to divert or distract once they have their minds set on something.

".. What do you want to know?"
Name | Xiao Yu [little fish] [missing family name, no reason given]; Raendt
Nickname | Raendt - alias when he intends to cause trouble.
Age | 15, or somewhere in the vicinity of.
Gender | Male.
Country | Northern China.
Occupation | Traveler, Wanderer, Gatherer, Harvester, Researcher.
Personality | Most of the time deceptively polite. Arrogant at times. Can be supremely contemptuous at times. Basically, he knows [though it may not be true] that he is superior to everyone, so he acts as if he's a step above, on pedestal. Is extremely stubborn, and once he decides he has to do something, will carry it out to the end. Can be warm.
Likes | Rice, rice wine [can he really hold his liquor?], bicycles, walking, cold climates, black and white clothing, quiet / frozen places, books, cold foods, staying neat.
Dislikes | Warm places, loud places, being caught grooming his hair.
Peculiarities | Because he has spent his entire life in cold environments, he knows the importance of dressing properly. That said, his ability to control cold does not extend into fire, so although he can prevent his body from dropping any further, he still needs to make sure that core parts of his body stay warm enough to function. Hence, his thick layer of assorted garments. He has a natural aversion to heat, but secretly suspects that lounging in a hot spring or in front of a fire will be heaven.
"Take a picture, plebeian!"
Height | Average for his age? If pressed for a number, he would probably say 5' 5".
Weight | Average for his age too. Again, if pressed for a number, he would say something close to 120 lbs.
Hair | A grayish, white mess. He tries to comb it. As a sign that he is uninitiated, he has a braid of hair tied on his left side. He greatly treasures this.
Eyes | Brown. Perhaps they are a bit paler than normal, or perhaps a bit more glazed over, but then again, it's probably an illusion.
Body Type | Lithe. All his body work is a result of intense endurance training, with little emphasis on strength.
Physical Appearance | Sort of short. He is dressed in very sharp contrasts of white and black clothing that tend to also separate by pants and shirts. He perpetually has a huge black scarf wrapped around his neck, partially obscuring his mouth at times.
Special Features | He tends to emit a trail of heavy black and white smoke. This is probably due to the intensely cold aura he projects which freezes water in the air into trailing ice vapour.
Clothing | He tends to wear a startling black pair of pants paired with black moccasins - these have white laces on them. He covers his upper body in flowing white silk robes with wide sleeves to conceal his hands, and the robe is secured by various black threads and strings. Black scarf wrapped around neck. He appears to be 'overdressed', but in reality he is always cold.
Photo | "Get lost, peasant!"
"Going to search me, or something?"
Weapon | Himself
Items | Nothing. Perhaps a bottle of water sometimes, and you'll see why it comes in useful during emergency circumstances ..
"WHO?!"
History | Xiao Yu was born into a tribe of elite genetic, nomadic wizards who tended to wander the Northern Chinese border. For centuries since the original discovery that their magic could somehow be inherited, they had been scouring the northern frozen plane for all traces of inborn magic and incorporating it into their master line. Xiao Yu is the 15th Grand Pupil born from this line. Naturally, this precluded him to an intense regime of training from the start as a child.
Beyond what an elemental master was expected to know, he was taught very little. Thus, although he is an expert on what he does, he barely knows anything about anything else. This, of course, does not deter him.
The training was designed harden his will until it became iron; he endured all the manner of physical and mental pain and was often tasked with impossible tasks to encourage him to persevere.
Relationships | Father, Mother. [Master will not be named]
Objective | Although the tribe has basically perfected its genetic lineage, there is much more to be discovered. As perfect as their elemental control of ice is, they are still subject to every human limitation. Magic and good health can hold off illness and stay the hand of death, but only for so long. With the recent turmoil in Europe, they see it as a perfect chance to finally be able to secure a sample of the 'mysterious' demons and other supernatural beings that dwell the world. They hope to analyze, extract, or perhaps even incorporate the long held secret of immortality into their genetic line ...
GROUP AFFILIATION | Northern Elementalists [no official name]
"Why don't I let you see, first hand?"
Human; Ice elementalist.
He is able to control "ice" by manipulating a field of cold energy around his body. As he gains experience and levels, his possible magical sphere of influence expands. Currently, it is limited to his body.
Fighting Style: Because his body is still human, his real advantage lies in an almost absolute ability to manipulate ice and cold. He tends to apply them in creative, yet ingenious ways to give him the upper hand.
**Note: He is able to regenerate from otherwise mortal injuries by using ice to 'cauterize' the wound and to reconstruct wounded tissues, but that will only take him so far - a mortal wound patched is still a mortal wound patched.
**Addendum: Although his endurance is as good as a young child can attain, his actual physical strength is somewhat lacking. Most of the time he will supplement this lack with his elemental powers.
