The secret dungeons beneath New York are owned by businessmen linked to various criminal activities who use it to store their business and political rivals, various troublemakers, and even homeless and kidnapping victims. The inmates are tortured and experimented on, often with techniques found in the occult texts in the Austercrest library. There are certain unused areas of the dungeons, which had existed before its current owners acquired it, that intruders can safely linger in.
