It wasn't necessarily that Nerys was bound to night- she simply preferred it, even in her years as a human. Her slender fingers traced along the aged lines of the park bench, sighing gently as the moon cradled her cinnamon face.
How long had it truly been? She stopped caring for time when it no longer cared for her. She took a seat on the edge of the bench, her weight heavy against the rickety wood as the thoughts continued to flutter about like the moths that worshiped the nearest street lamp.
She rubbed her cheek, her hand unconsciously tracing towards the vague scar on her neck. She stopped herself, quickly moving he hand away to place it on her thigh, rubbing the dungaree material as she looked about in the park.
She stood up wearily, making her way to a swing set and plopping in the abiding seat. Her feet began to faintly push he back and forth, the chains straining to keep their hold as she rested her temple against their taut embrace. Normally she would be hungry around this time, but her melancholy stole whatever appetite she had hosted before.
A soft whimper came from the shadows and Kelile, her faithful guardian, emerged, dark auburn fur sleek in the moonlight as the shaggy curls around its head bounced like a lion's mane. Nerys gave a tired smile and stroked under her pet's chin, Kelile closing her eyes and hyuuing softly. Her thoughts reverted back to the brooding pool, although she focused on one particular.
It was of the hunter, the one with the halberd that had threatened her a week ago. She had seen no sign of the man, considering that perhaps the NYPD plus Fox News and lord knows what else could get involved, and if he retaliated, potentially he could be executed, if by the right hand.
But what had she done to upset him? All she did was take a small amount of blood from a stranger. Yes, she took precautions; no, she wasn't viral; no, he wasn't dead- where was the evil in just trying to survive!? She used no mind tricks of any sort to get what she wanted, she simply was and nothing more.
Such thoughts made her head ache as her hair dribbled over her shoulder in a fluttering motion, her seductive features hinting a slight fatigue as the moon floated overhead.
