St. Peter's Basilica, the most imposing church in Christendom, is the prime destination for many tourists. Michelangelo created the dome for this masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance, which is approached through a monumental piazza. The basilica is part church, part art gallery, part sarcophagus; beneath the floor is a chamber where past popes have been interred. Naturally, this place is heavily guarded by Vatican secret service officials, often posing as staff.
Given that many of the most powerful agents of the Vatican often operate in this area, fighting is not suggested and always a suicidal endeavor.
